Maoist Centre Chairman urges govt. to repair disaster-hit roads
Sindhupalchowk, Jan 13: CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has urged the government to immediately carry out the repair works of the disaster-hit roads and ensure smooth vehicular movement.
Prachanda made these remarks after meeting with party cadres, people’s representatives, and security officials at Sukute in Sindhupalchowk on Monday. Earlier, the former Prime Minister took stock of the reconstruction of flood-damaged infrastructure in the district.
Prachanda also spoke with the secretary at the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport over the phone and asked to expedite the reconstruction works, Prachanda’s secretariat stated. The Maoist Centre Chairman said that installing two bailey bridges and maintaining the flood-damaged roads would help ease traffic along the Kathmandu-Sindhupalchowk road section.
Dahal arrived in Sukute to inaugurate the 8th men’s and 7th women’s national volleyball tournaments, which are set to begin. —RSS
