President garlands Prithvi Narayan Shah’s statue

Kathmandu: On the occasion of the 303rd Prithvi Jayanti and National Unity Day, President Ramchandra Paudel garlanded Prithvi Narayan Shah’s statue in front of the West Gate to Singhadurbar here today, amidst a special programme.

King Prithvi Narayan Shah is credited with initiating the unification of Nepal with the support of all castes and communities.

A contingent of the Nepali Army offered a guard of honour on the occasion.
