Training on role and responsibility of journalists kicks off in Janakpur

Dhanushadham (Janakpur), Dec 10: A two-day training themed ‘Journalists’ Role and Responsibility in the Changing Context and Rastriya Samachar Samiti (RSS)’ has kicked off at Janakpurdham in Dhanusha district on Friday.

Inaugurating the training, Minister for Home, Communications, and Law of the Madhesh Province Raj Kumar Lekhi reaffirmed the provincial government’s commitment to ensuring the welfare of the media persons. Minister Lekhi highlighted the crucial role of journalism in unveiling the truths and thus spoke of the need for journalism to highlight the issues for social transformations.

He viewed that the only state-owned agency, RSS, should be further strengthened. Claiming that the provincial government had made positive progress in agriculture, health, and education, he opined that journalism should take the good practice of federalism to the public.

Likewise, a member of the Madhesh Province Assembly, Ram Ashish Yadav, said the journalists should pay more attention to unveiling the sufferings of the citizens, including the climate change impacts. Executive Chairman of RSS Dharmendra Jha asked the journalists to prioritize the issues of grassroots.

RSS Chief Reporter Narayan Neupane and Senior Editor of the English News Section Krishna Sapkota have facilitated the trainees on professionalism, credibility, and brevity. —RSS
