NA Chairman consults parliamentary committee chairs and secretaries

Kathmandu, Jan 6: In his attempt to ensure the effectiveness of the National Assembly’s committees and the upcoming winter session of the Federal Parliament, the National Assembly (NA) Chairman, Narayan Prasad Dahal, on Monday consulted with the chairpersons and secretaries of the NA committees.

Dahal discussed the issues with the chairpersons of four NA committees and their secretaries and took stock of their activities and work execution. On the occasion, Chairman Dahal urged the chairpersons to make their committees active since their effectiveness is determined by their active and coordinative role.

Likewise, NA Speaker Dahal asked the government to provide business to the parliament for parliamentary vigilance, and also the main task of the parliament was to make laws.

During the meeting, NA Vice-Chair Bimala Ghimire said interactions, coordination, and cooperation should be intensified to effectively run the activities of the parliamentary committees. —RSS
