Husband dies, wife injured seriously in scooter accident

Bhaktapur, Jan 3: A person died while his wife got serious injuries in a scooter accident occurred at Madhyapurthimi municipality-2 on Friday.

A scooter (Ba Pra 02-028 Pa 6610) heading to Magargoan from Sanothimi met accident after it lost control. Scooter driver Prakash Raj Bhandari, 31, from Dhunchepakha, Sanothimi died in the incident, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police, Dhundiraj Neupane.

Pillion rider Puja Shrestha, 28, who is the spouse of the victim, has been receiving treatment at Norvic Hospital, Kathmandu.

The lifeless body of Rajbhandari has been taken to TU Teaching Hospital for postmortem.

Investigation into the incident is underway.
