Finance committee endorses Safe Transaction (first amendment) Bill

Kathmandu: The Finance Committee of the House of Representatives (HoR) endorsed the Safe Transaction (first amendment) Bill, 2080 on Thursday. Chair of the Committee, Santosh Chalise, announced that the Bill was passed unanimously.

During the Committee meeting, Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel informed that the minor mistakes of the parties of the contract could be wiped out and the related regulation made clear on it. Committee member Upendra Yadav suggested that minor mistakes could be replaced with ‘relating to collateral’.

Also, the former finance minister and Committee member Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat viewed the minor mistake as defined in international law, so it could be managed accordingly.

Member Dr Swarnim Wagle mentioned that as the mistake is defined even in international law, it needs to be mentioned in the present law as well.

Also furnishing suggestions in the Committee meeting were members Gyan Bahadur Sahi, Chhiring Damgul Lama, Juli Kumari Mahato, Ganga Karki, and Narayan Prasad Acharya, among others.
