U.S. Embassy launches communication training programme for survivors of gender-based violence
December 9, Kathmandu: The U.S. Embassy in Nepal, in partnership with internationally recognized corporate coach Mannsi Agrawal and International Women of Courage Award recipient Muskan Khatun, hosted the launch of a communication training programme for over 30 remarkable survivors of gender-based violence (GBV) on Monday.
Over the next two days, the participants will engage in communication training designed “to enhance their skills, restore their self-assurance, and reclaim their voices”, according to the U.S. Embassy.
Speaking at the event, Jason P. Meeks, the Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Embassy, expressed pride in the Embassy’s support for the initiative. He highlighted that the programme aimed to provide participants with the tools necessary to navigate social interactions with confidence, rebuild their self-esteem, and lead lives filled with hope and empowerment.
According to the Embassy, the workshop aims to bring together powerful women to establish a network of support, to empower them with communication skills, and to provide a platform to share their stories and build resilience.
The training will be held in various cities across the country, including Kathmandu, Janakpur, Pokhara, and Biratnagar.
