Maoist Centre’s Ghimire elected ward chair in Belaka municipality
Gaighat, Dec 3: The CPN (Maoist Centre) candidate Bharat Ghimire has won the election, securing the post of chair at ward no. 9 in Belaka municipality, Udayapur.
Ghimire achieved 559 votes, while his nearest rival, Mohan Khadka from CPN UML, collected 525 votes. Similarly, Nepali Congress’ Nabaraj Basnet secured 404 votes, according to the information officer at the office election officer, Suresh Pokharel.
Out of a total of 3,147 voters on the list, the voters’ turnout was 1,887. Similarly, Maoist Centre’s Nawin Bantawa Rai has been elected chair of ward no. 12 at Triyuga municipality.
In both of these wards, NC had the leadership in the past. —RSS
