Darchula jeep accident: 6 die, 7 injured

Darchula: Six people lost their lives and seven others sustained injuries in a jeep accident in Darchula early morning today.

According to the Police, a jeep heading towards Gokuleshwor after returning from a night procession at the Malikarjun Temple in Malikarjun Rural Municipality-3 met with an accident at Siradi Dhar in Shailyashikhar Municipality-6 Gwani early morning today.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Prakash Dahal, Police Chief of the District Police Office, Darchula, informed that four people died on the spot in the accident.

According to the police, the jeep fell about 300 meters off the road. The incident is estimated to have occurred around 3 am.

Police have stated that the identity of the deceased has not been established yet.

Nepal Police, Armed Police Force and locals are conducting the rescue operations.
