Lumbini Chief Minister Acharya vows to protect rights of conflict victims

October 28, Kathmandu: Chief Minister of Lumbini Chet Narayan Acharya has assured that the province government is dedicated to addressing the needs of conflict victims.

Chief Minister Acharya said the government is committed to implementing inclusive policies and legal frameworks to protect the rights of these victims.

The Chief Minister highlighted the government’s focus on transitional justice mechanisms and providing reparations to the affected.

He emphasized the need to address the specific needs of women and children who were disproportionately impacted by the conflict.

The provincial government is actively working to implement the UN Security Council Resolutions 1325 and 1820, which focus on women, peace, and security, the Chief Minister said, adding these resolutions aim to ensure women’s meaningful participation in the peace process, protect women and girls from violence, and promote gender equality in post-conflict reconstruction.
