Continued efforts for women’s inclusion in all spheres of life stressed
September 5, Kathmandu: Participants at an event on women’s empowerment have emphasized the need to continue the goals of Women’s Day, including the inclusion of women in social, political, cultural, and financial spheres.
Speaking at the event in Kathmandu on Thursday, marking both Emirati Women’s Day on August 28 and International Women’s Day on March 8, United Arab Emirates (UAE) Ambassador to Nepal, Abdulla Al Shamsi, highlighted that women in the UAE were well-represented in all areas of life and had made significant achievements.
“From the founding of the UAE, the country’s founder, Zayed Bin Sultan Nahyan, prioritized women’s empowerment, a sentiment that continues under the UAE’s government today,” Ambassador Al Shamsi said.
The event saw participation from women of various sectors, including former ministers, politicians, diplomats, businesswomen, and journalists.
