Heroes for Life: Israeli volunteers launch two-week campaign in Nepal

October 5, Kathmandu: The Israeli non-governmental organization, “Heroes for Life,” commenced its two-week mission in Nepal on October 1, slated to continue until October 14. The 34-member delegation of dedicated volunteers will primarily focus on infrastructure and education projects spanning five schools in the Kathmandu Valley.

This annual mission, characterized by a return to the same schools each year, underscores the organization’s commitment to maintaining continuity and ensuring a lasting impact. Beyond educational objectives, the initiative also aims to foster people-to-people connections, contributing to the cultural exchange between Nepalis and Israelis.

This volunteer effort stands as one among numerous projects undertaken during the 63 years of diplomatic relations between Nepal and Israel.

In recognition of their efforts, a reception was hosted at the residence of the Israeli Ambassador on Wednesday, honouring the volunteers and their partner institutions.

Ambassador Hanan Goder expressed pride in the collaborative spirit of the volunteers, schools, and organizations involved, emphasizing his expectation that this positive trend would endure in the coming years.

The event also provided an opportunity for participants to share in the Israeli tradition of “Sukkot,” a festival observed at this time of the year.

“Heroes for Life,” active in 17 countries globally, has been engaged in volunteer work in Nepal since 2017, reaffirming their dedication to making a positive difference on a global scale.
