Power supply to ICU and CCU wards interrupted
Birgunj (Parsa), June 1: Power supply was interrupted in the ICU and CCU wards of Narayani Hospital for two hours and 30 minutes.
The power supply was cut off in the wards of the hospital from 10:30 pm on Friday to 1:00 am on Saturday, allegedly due to negligence of the hospital administration and management. A total of 17 patients were undergoing treatment at the ICU and CCU of the hospital, who were fortunately saved by the doctors and nursing staff, who took necessary precautions and used their mobile phone lights to continue with the treatment.
Meanwhile, the District Administration Office has taken serious note of the incident of power outage in sensitive wards like the ICU and CCU of Narayani Hospital on Friday night. The DAO has called for an internal investigation and will take necessary action against the employees indulging in the negligent act.
Chief District Officer Ganesh Aryal and Parsa Police Chief Gautam Mishra held a joint meeting on Saturday with the Chair of the Narayani Hospital Development Committee, the Acting Medical Superintendent, the Chief of Administration, doctors working in various departments and wards of the hospital, nursing staff, electricians and other officials and employees of all agencies connected to the hospital and gave strict instructions to take the matter seriously.
Narayani Hospital Development Committee Chair Dhiraj Kumar Gupta expressed his commitment not to allow such incidents to be repeated in the future. Chitraranjan Sah, acting medical superintendent of the hospital, claimed that the incident occurred due to poor electrical wiring in the ICU and CCU rooms.
