CPN-UML lawmaker Laxmi Mahato Koiri suspended

Kathmandu: CPN-UML lawmaker Laxmi Mahato Koiri who is accused of murder has been suspended from the post of member of the House of Representatives.  

Issuing a notice today, General Secretary of the Federal Parliament Dr Bharat Raj Gautam informed that Speaker Dev Raj Ghimire suspended lawmaker Koiri in accordance with the House of Representatives Regulations.

Nepal Police had sent a letter to the House Speaker yesterday mentioning that a murder case had been filed in a court against Koiri and the police were searching the absconded accused.

The Speaker then suspended Koiri after receiving the letter from the Police as the parliament has been prorogued at present.
