Tanahun-1 vote count update: Wagle leading the race

April 24, Kathmandu: In the Tanahun constituency number 1, Dr Swarnim Wagle of the Rashtriya Swatantra Party (RSP) is leading with more than twice the number of votes compared to his nearest rival.

The latest results show that Wagle has secured 10,259 votes, while Nepali Congress candidate Govinda Bhattarai, who the ruling coalition parties are supporting, has received 5,003 votes.

UML candidate Sarbendra Khanal is in third place with 2,797 votes.

The vote-counting process started Sunday night and is being conducted at the office of the District Coordination Committee in Damauli.

It remains to be seen how the final result will turn out but based on the current trend, Dr Swarnim Wagle seems to be in a strong position to win the election.
