Dr Ruit to be awarded Bahrain’s prestigious Isa Award

January 17, Kathmandu: Ophthalmologist Dr Sanduk Ruit will be conferred with the Kingdom of Bahrain’s prestigious Isa Award.
The Isa Award, established in the name of Sheikh Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa, the first Emir of Bahrain, awards people who have served humanity and their community. This is going to be the fifth edition of the award.
Dr Ruit will be presented with the award at a ceremony to be held at the Isa Cultural Centre in Manama next month.
The organization said that it decided to honour Dr Ruit with the award for his service to humanity. Dr Ruit has served hundreds of thousands of people in rural parts of Nepal by developing a simple method of treating cataracts.
Dr Ruit will receive a certificate of merit, a gold medal, and a US$1 million cash prize.
