On Air Station:

Weather to improve gradually from this afternoon

Kathmandu: Weather conditions across the country are expected to improve gradually after noon today as the impact of the low-pressure system associated with the remnants of Cyclone Arnab begins to weaken.

According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, the low-pressure system is currently positioned near western Nepal, bringing moderate rainfall and snowfall to several areas of Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini and Karnali provinces, as well as some parts of Koshi and Sudurpashchim provinces.

Light rainfall is also occurring in some areas of Madhesh Province.

The Division said light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning, along with light to moderate snowfall in high-hill and mountainous regions, may continue until this afternoon.

Most parts of the country have remained cloudy over the past three days, with continuous moderate rainfall reported in the Kathmandu Valley and several other areas.

The Division has advised farmers to avoid agricultural activities, including rice harvesting, today and tomorrow.

The Division has also urged people to remain cautious of heavy snowfall, snowstorms and landslides in high-hill and Himalayan regions. Tourists have been advised not to travel to high Himalayan areas, while those already there have been asked to remain in safe locations until weather conditions improve.

The Division has warned that falling temperatures and landslides in vulnerable areas and along roads could disrupt daily life, including road and air transport services.

It has urged the general public and concerned agencies to remain alert and take necessary precautionary measures.

Weather conditions are expected to improve gradually from this afternoon as the influence of the weather system weakens.
