Both houses of Federal Parliament meeting today

Kathmandu, Oct 1: Meetings of both houses of the Federal Parliament are scheduled for today.

In the House of Representatives meeting commencing at 11:00 am, Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Sobita Gautam, on behalf of the Prime Minister, is scheduled to present the Eighth Annual Report (2083 BS) of the National Natural Resources and Fiscal Commission.

Similarly, Chairperson of the State Affairs and Good Governance Committee, Hari Dhakal, will present the Committee’s Report (2083 BS) on the Bill related to the remuneration, terms and conditions of service of Office Bearers of Constitutional Bodies (First Amendment).

The agenda shared by the Federal Parliament Secretariat also includes a proposal by Finance Minister Dr Swarnim Wagle seeking approval to send the ‘Employees Provident Fund (Tenth Amendment) Bill, 2083,’ ‘Citizen’s Investment Trust (Third Amendment) Bill, 2083,’ and ‘Payment and Settlement (First Amendment) Bill, 2083’ to the respective committees for clause-by-clause deliberations.

Likewise, in the National Assembly meeting scheduled for 13:15 pm, Minister for Women, Children, Gender and Sexual Minorities, and Social Security, Sita Badi, is scheduled to respond to oral questions from MPs related to her ministry.

Additionally, the Prime Minister is scheduled to present the annual report of the National Indigenous Nationalities Commission for the fiscal year 2080/81 before the Assembly.

Similarly, Chairperson of the Public Policy and Delegated Legislation Committee, Puja Chaudhary, is scheduled to present the Committee’s annual report for the fiscal year 2082/83.

Meanwhile, the Agriculture and Natural Resources Committee and the Legislation Management Committee of the Parliament are also scheduled to meet today. RSS
