Moderate rain in Kathmandu Valley and several parts of the country

Kathmandu, Sept. 27: Moderate rain is currently occurring in Kathmandu Valley and several other parts of the country, according to the Meteorological Forecasting Division.

The monsoon low-pressure line is currently positioned around its average location in the western region and slightly south of its average position in the east. Nepal is also under the influence of monsoon winds, along with some westerly winds. A well-marked low-pressure area is currently situated over Uttar Pradesh, India.

The weather is mostly cloudy in Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpashchim provinces. The hilly and Himalayan areas of Koshi and Bagmati provinces are also generally cloudy, while the Terai areas of Koshi, Madhesh and Bagmati provinces are partly cloudy.

Moderate rain is being reported from Kathmandu Valley and various other locations.

Many places in the hilly and Himalayan areas of Karnali and Sudurpashchim provinces are experiencing moderate rain or snowfall accompanied by thunder and lightning. Similar weather conditions are reported in some areas of the hilly and Himalayan regions of Gandaki and Lumbini provinces, and in a few places in Koshi and Bagmati provinces.

Moderate rain with thunder and lightning is also likely in many parts of the Terai areas of Sudurpashchim Province, some places in Lumbini, and a few areas of Bagmati and Gandaki provinces. One or two places in the Terai areas of Koshi and Madhesh provinces may also receive such rainfall.
