Woman dies after being swept away by river in Rukum West

Triveni (Rukum West): A 58-year-old woman died after being swept away by a river in Rukum West. The deceased has been identified as Begmaya Damai, of Syaulibari of Musikot Municipality-11.

She was swept away while attempting to cross the swollen river. She was rescued in an unconscious condition from about 20-25 meters downstream with the help of locals and police, and was taken to the District Hospital, Salle, where she was pronounced dead, according Jhabindra Pariyar, information officer at the District Police Office, Rukum West.
