Two climbers die in snow avalanche in Mt. Manaslu

Gorkha: Two climbers died in Mt Manaslu after being buried in a snow avalanche.

A German national of Indian origin and his Nepali Sherpa guide died after they were buried by a snow avalanche on Saturday night.

The deceased have been identified as German national Dhruba Jyoti Guha and Sherpa Guide Phursemba Sherpa, according to the District Police Office. Both of them had gone for Mt Manaslu expedition from Makalu Adventure Company Ltd.

Police shared that both of them were buried by around seven feet snow inside the tent at camp III. Preparation has been made to take their bodies to Kathmandu via a chopper on Monday.

With this, number of climbers who have died in Mt. Manaslu reached four this season. A total of 480 climbers have obtained permission to climb Mt. Manaslu for this season.
