National Service Corps Bill submitted to HoR

Kathmandu: The Report of the Committee on the National Service Corps Bill, 2083 has been submitted to the House of Representatives.

During today’s session of the Lower House, Chairperson of the State Affairs and Good Governance Committee, Hari Dhakal, presented the report to the House. He conveyed his confidence that the proposed legislation will motivate secondary school students to cultivate patriotic values, participate in community service initiatives, and strengthen national cohesion.

Dhakal further emphasized that the bill incorporates mechanisms for enlisting citizens into national service roles according to the nation’s requirements.

The bill originally contained 30 provisions but following deliberation and amendments, it was unanimously approved with nine provisions amended and one provision revised.

A total of 13 members of parliament proposed 78 amendments throughout the legislative process.
