Bills presented in HoR meeting
Kathmandu: The House of Representatives (HoR) recorded presentation of two bills: the ‘Citizen Investment Fund (Third Amendment) Bill, 2083’ and the ‘Payment and Clearance (First Amendment) Bill, 2083 BS’ on Thursday.

Finance Minister Dr Swarnim Wagle introduced these bills in the House. During the meeting, Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Sobhita Gautam, said exchange of experience among Members of Parliament (MPs) was instrumental during the legislative process. She viewed the similarities among Asian countries that can significantly enhance effective lawmaking.
The House also unanimously approved a resolution to initiate a general discussion on membership in the Council of Asian Legislative Bodies. A condolence motion was passed by the HoR, paying tribute to the late National Assembly member Shukraraj Samyok.
A minute of silence was observed in honour of the former member who passed away recently.
Samyok was elected to the National Assembly from the Nepali Congress in 2054 BS. Bikram Thapa, Krishna Hari Budhathoki, Prakash Chandra Pariyar, Pukar Bam, Renuka Kaucha, Rima Bishwakarma, Manmaya BK, Anushka Shrestha, Pramila Kumari Gachchhadar, Mohanlal Acharya, Yagya Mani Neupane, Rekha KumariYadav, Shahjan Khatun, Prem Bahadur Bayak, Yesuda Kumari Baral, Yuvraj Dulal, Narendra Kumar Kerung, Ganesh Bahadur BK, Guru Prasad Baral, Hari Mohan Bhandari, and Sadija Khatun Siddiqi put forth their views in the meeting.
The House of Representatives is scheduled to reconvene tomorrow at 1:00 pm.
