NC 15th general convention: ward convention to begin from September 19

Kathmandu: The ward convention under the 15th general convention of the Nepali Congress (NC) is scheduled to begin from September 19.

NC has postponed the ward convention, which was set to kick off from September 9, due to devastating flood in Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwa. Issuing a press statement today, Coordinator of the NC Election Committee, Prem Bahadur Khadka informed that the ward convention is to take place on September 19 and 20.

On the day, the convention will be held in 6,743 wards across the country and regional delegates will be chosen. Coordinator Khadka informed that upcoming convention of rural municipalities, municipalities, sub-metropolitan cities, and metropolitan cities will be held on September 23, while provincial assembly regional conventions and House of Representatives constituency-based conventions are scheduled for September 26.

The central general convention will take place in Kathmandu from October 2 to 5, according to Coordinator Khadka. He added that for flood-affected districts, Rasuwa, Nuwakot, and Dhading, the convention will be conducted in coordination between the designated election officer and the local level structure of the party.

Remaining conventions of the Nepal Public Relations Committee are set to be completed by September 26. Khadka also informed that the schedule for holding district and provincial conventions will be disclosed in the second phase.
