RSP President Lamichhane and US Secretary of State Rubio hold telephone conversation

Discuss flood response and US support for Nepal

Kathmandu: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) President Rabi Lamichhane and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio held a telephone conversation today.

According to RSP spokesperson Jagadish Kharel, US Secretary Rubio expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives and property caused by the devastating Bhotekoshi floods.

He also expressed solidarity with Nepal and the Nepali people during this difficult time.

During the conversation, RSP President Lamichhane said the Government of Nepal had mobilised all available resources for search, rescue and relief operations in the flood-affected areas.

He said the government was equally committed to ensuring the safety and security of foreign nationals in Nepal, alongside Nepali citizens.

Leader Lamichhane thanked the US Government for its support and assistance during the disaster.

In response, Secretary Rubio pledged to provide additional assistance to the Government of Nepal, if needed.
