Rescue, search and relief operations intensified after floods in Rasuwa

Rasuwa: Rescue, search and relief operations have been intensified following floods in Syafrubesi, Timure and surrounding areas of Rasuwa.

The government has directed Chief District Officers to evacuate people living in vulnerable and low-lying areas to safer locations. Residents in areas at risk of further flooding have also been urged to move to safety.

Authorities have advised the public to avoid unnecessary travel along the Prithvi Highway, Galchhi–Nuwakot–Rasuwa–Syafrubesi road and Muglin–Narayangadh road due to increased risks from floods and landslides.

Following Prime Minister Balendra Shah’s direction, Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, the Nepal Army, district administration and disaster management agencies have intensified rescue and relief operations.

Two Nepal Army helicopters, accompanied by medical teams, have been deployed to the affected areas for search, rescue and relief. Helicopters from private companies have also been kept on standby.

Meanwhile, a meeting of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority is underway at the Ministry of Home Affairs in Singha Durbar. Prime Minister Shah has also called a meeting of the National Council for Disaster Risk Reduction and Management for 11 this morning.
