Case filed on charge of black marketing
Tulsipur (Dang): A case has been filed against four persons here on charge of involvement in black marketing of subsidized chemical fertilizers.
Following the police investigation, Sohan Lal Chaudhary and Krishna Bahadur Chaudhary from Ghorahi, and Diwakar Khatri and Khim Bahadur Gharti from Banglachuli are filed a case in line with Black Marketing and Social Crimes and Punishment Act, 2032.
They were arrested on August 13 while transporting and distributing DAP and urea fertilizers at Sisahania of Ghorahi Sub-Metropolitan City-7. The police had confiscated 53 sacks of DAP and four sacks of urea and impounded a tractor from them.
Assistant District Attorney in Dang, Shreedhar Adhikari, informed that the fertilizers were procured in the name of a cooperative which was intended for distribution to the targeted farmers by the Agricultural Materials Company Limited. However, the police investigation found that the four persons were attempting to sell the agricultural essential at a high price.
They had purchased 130 sacks of DAP and 180 sacks of urea for a cooperative at Banglachuli Rural Municipality-5 on July 11.
Assistant District Attorney Adhikari further informed that they were taken legal action after the investigation showed sheer fraud. The arrested ones have been sought imprisonment and fines as per the law.
It has also been demanded that the confiscated fertilizer be distributed to the farmers at fair price through the cooperative or agricultural office. RSS
