Chitwan records two dengue and six scrub typhus cases
Chitwan: Two new cases of dengue and six cases of scrub typhus were reported in Chitwan district in the month of Sawan.
According to the Public Health Office, a case of dengue was confirmed in Kalika Municipality and the next one in Ichchhakamana Rural Municipality in the district.
Likewise, six cases of scrub typhus were confirmed, including five in Bharatpur Metropolitan City and one in Ratnanagar Municipality, the Office shared.
Similarly, two people from other districts coming to Chitwan for treatment were also infected with dengue and 28 with scrub typhus.
With this, the district recorded four cases of dengue and 34 cases of scrub typhus in total in the month of Sawan.
The Vector Control Inspector of the Office, Ram KC, said that no death case was reported during the period, but the cases have surged during the rainy season.
Currently, the Office has launched a ‘search and destroy’ initiative against larvae in coordination with the local levels. RSS
