Education Ministry warns action against unauthorized foreign education programmes
Kathmandu: The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology has warned of legal action against educational institutions operating foreign education programmes without government approval.
The warning follows the Cabinet’s approval of the Foreign Educational Programmes (Operation and Regulation) Regulations, 2083, aimed at strengthening the quality and regulation of programmes offered under foreign affiliations.
The Ministry said some institutions have been running programmes such as A-Level, CBSE and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) without obtaining the required permission.
Under-Secretary Krishna Chandra Pokharel said the Ministry has reminded institutions of the legal provisions and urged anyone with information about unauthorized foreign education programmes to report them in writing within three days.
The Ministry said the new regulation will introduce stricter standards for educational programmes operated in Nepal in affiliation with foreign universities and educational institutions.
