NC to support government’s governance reforms
Patan (Lalitpur): Nepali Congress President Gagan Thapa has said that his party supports the government to effectively advance governance reform initiatives being carried out in the country.

At a review program on the government’s 100-day and 100-point governance agenda held at the central office of the Nepali Congress, Sanepa, on Sunday, he expressed the view that the government should be able to work according to its five-year mandate while maintaining political stability.
Thapa clarified that although the party disagrees with some issues in the government’s working style, it will play a constructive role as per the opposition’s responsibility.
“We have supported the government to ensure political stability. We will question where we need to, and support where we need to support,” he said.
Recalling that the Nepali Congress and the Nepal Communist Party also ran majority governments in the past, President Thapa pointed out the need to utilise the majority in the interest of the country and the governance.
Thapa said that the government will respect the five-year mandate it has received and provide necessary assistance to make it a success.
