Election schedule published for RSP general convention

Chitwan: The election schedule for the first general convention of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has been made public.

According to the party’s Central Election Commission, the preliminary list of general convention representatives was published on Saturday. The final list of representatives will be released at 11:00 pm today.

As per the schedule, nomination forms will be distributed from 1:00 pm on Monday, while nomination registration will take place from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm the same day. The list of candidates will be published at 6:00 pm.

Time has been allocated from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm for filing claims and objections, while complaints will be investigated from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. The deadline for withdrawal of candidacy is 9:15 pm on Monday, after which the final list of candidates will be published.

Voting for one central president and 99 central members will be held from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm on Tuesday, June 23. Vote counting and results will be announced two hours after voting concludes.

According to the commission, the nomination fee for the post of party president is Rs 51,000, requiring one proposer and 51 supporters. Office-bearer candidates must pay Rs 41,000 with support from 21 representatives, while central member candidates must pay Rs 21,000 with the same number of supporters.

A total of 4,211 representatives are participating in the general convention.
