‘Policy issues behind nonoperation of Gautam Budhha International Airport’
Devdaha (Rupandehi): Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Khadak Raj Paudel, has said that the Gautam Buddha International Airport will come into operation in the future.
Speaking at a programme organised in Bhairahaa of Rupandehi on Friday, the Minister said the government is preparing to bring the airport into full operation.
He argued that there is no truth to claims that political and diplomatic reasons are behind the airport’s non-operation. Policy issues are responsible for it.
He added that provisions have been made to obtain labour permits through home services, eliminating the need to travel to Kathmandu.
The Minister also stressed the need to utilise the country’s aviation services to bring in more tourists. He also echoed the need to develop the Nijgadh Airport in the future. RSS
