Asian powerhouse South Korea clinches dramatic 2-1 world cup comeback win over Czechia

GUADALAJARA, Mexico — Asian powerhouse South Korea secured a hard-fought 2-1 comeback victory over Czechia in their opening FIFA World Cup Group A match at Guadalajara Stadium on Friday .
Czechia broke the deadlock in the 58th minute when defender Ladislav Krejci found the back of the net. The South Korean side responded aggressively, neutralising the European pressure with high-tempo transitions. Midfielder Hwang In-beom scored a clinical equaliser in the 66th minute to level the match.
The decisive breakthrough arrived in the 80th minute when substitute forward Oh Hyeon-gyu struck a dramatic late winner, earning South Korea all three points.
