Art, literature and music basis of national unity: President Paudel
Kathmandu: President Ram Chandra Paudel has said that art, literature and music are the foundation of national unity and social harmony.
Addressing the Natikaji National Music Awards and Prize Distribution Ceremony-2083 in Kathmandu on Friday, President Paudel said artists, creativity and culture are valuable assets of the nation. He stated that music and literature help strengthen unity, tolerance, friendship and brotherhood in Nepal’s multi-ethnic, multilingual and multicultural society.
President Paudel said music also serves as a common language and an important part of national identity. He stressed the need to maintain a balance between tradition and modernity in the development of Nepali music by preserving traditional melodies and styles while embracing modern technology and innovation.
He also said the state should continue to honour and support creators involved in music and literature, describing them as indicators of a civilized and cultured society.
President Paudel further said the contribution of Natikaji to Nepali modern music remains exemplary, adding that his patriotic and timeless songs have strengthened love for the motherland and enriched Nepali music.
