Heatwave Likely in Parts of Terai; Mixed Weather Across Country

Kathmandu, April 22: Weather conditions across Nepal remain varied today, with partial cloud cover in the Himalayan region and hilly areas of Koshi Province, while most other parts of the country are experiencing generally clear skies. A few places in Koshi Province are witnessing light rainfall.

According to the Weather Forecasting Division, the Himalayan regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces are expected to remain mostly cloudy. Meanwhile, hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces will see partly cloudy conditions, with the rest of the country staying mainly fair.

There is a chance of light rain, along with snowfall, in one or two locations in the hilly and Himalayan areas of Koshi Province, as well as parts of the Himalayan regions in Bagmati and Gandaki.

Temperatures are likely to rise this afternoon in the Terai, valleys, and basin areas of Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces. Some Terai regions in Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces may experience heatwave conditions.

Tonight, light rain and snowfall are possible in the Himalayan region of Koshi Province, while weather elsewhere is expected to remain mostly clear.

Meteorologists say the current weather pattern is influenced by a mix of westerly and local winds.
