Prime Minister Shah to hold discussion with University and Academy Vice Chancellors

April 20, Kathmandu: Prime Minister Balendra Shah is set to hold a discussion today with the vice chancellors of universities and academies across the country. The meeting will take place at 12:00 noon at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, according to the Prime Minister’s Secretariat.
Vice chancellors from 11 universities and seven academies under the Prime Minister’s chancellorship have been invited to the discussion. The meeting is expected to focus on contemporary challenges faced by universities and institutions, along with possible solutions.
According to the Secretariat, the meeting will also address issues that can be resolved immediately, with an emphasis on improving efficiency and governance in higher education institutions.
The vice chancellors of Tribhuvan University, Kathmandu University, Purbanchal University, Pokhara University, and Lumbini Buddhist University will participate in the discussion. Similarly, representatives from Nepal Sanskrit University, Far Western University, Mid-Western University, Agriculture and Forestry University, Rajarshi Janak University, and Shahid Dasharath Chand Health Sciences University will also attend.
Likewise, vice-chancellors of the Nepal Academy of Science and Technology (NAST), the National Academy of Medical Sciences, the Patan Academy of Health Sciences, the B.P. Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, the Karnali Academy of Health Sciences, the Pokhara Academy of Health Sciences, and the Rapti Academy of Health Sciences are also scheduled to participate.
The government expects the meeting to help resolve institutional issues, improve academic quality, and promote research-oriented education in Nepal.
