Government focused on good governance and prosperity: Minister Khanal
Kathmandu, April 18: Foreign Affairs Minister Shisir Khanal has said the government is prioritising good governance and economic prosperity through ongoing policy and institutional reforms.
Speaking at a programme in Kathmandu on Saturday, Minister Khanal said government efforts have already been initiated to achieve these objectives.
The minister, representing the ruling Rastriya Swatantra Party, said public votes for the party reflect citizens’ aspiration for change and assured that their mandate would not be wasted.
He said controlling corruption remains a key priority of the government, adding that a committee has already been formed to investigate the property details of individuals who have held major public offices since 2062 BS.
Khanal stated that the government is working to ensure citizens can access public services easily and efficiently. He also said attention is being given to the safety and security of Nepali citizens both within the country and abroad.
According to him, the government is also focusing on accelerating economic growth and job creation while creating a favourable environment for trade and business activities.
The minister, who is also a Member of the House of Representatives from Kathmandu-6, pledged continued efforts to address local issues, including drinking water, drainage, and road infrastructure in his constituency.
