Nepal welcomes US-Iran ceasefire, calls for peaceful resolution
Kathmandu, April 9: Nepal has welcomed the recent announcement of a two-week ceasefire between the United States and Iran, viewing it as a positive step toward regional peace and stability.
In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday, the government said the development provides an opportunity for dialogue, diplomacy, and the peaceful settlement of differences. Nepal reiterated its long-standing position in favour of resolving disputes through peaceful means.
The statement also highlighted concerns over the humanitarian impact of the conflict and stressed the need to protect the safety and well-being of civilians.
“Nepal supports all international efforts aimed at promoting lasting peace and stability in the region and beyond,” the ministry added.
