On Air Station:

Nationwide Rainfall Affects Daily Life, System Likely to Weaken by Thursday Night

Kathmandu, April 8: Rainfall has been recorded across all seven provinces due to a westerly low-pressure system combined with local winds, leaving weather conditions generally cloudy nationwide.

According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, showers in several parts of the country have disrupted normal life, while high-hill and mountainous regions have experienced snowfall.

Data recorded this evening show that Dadeldhura received the highest rainfall, 46.6 mm, in the past 12 hours, followed by 42.2 mm in Doti. In the Kathmandu Valley, Kathmandu recorded 13 mm of rainfall, Lalitpur 12 mm, and Bhaktapur 8 mm. Other areas, including Dhankuta, Surkhet, and Gorkha, also reported measurable rainfall.

Rainfall is ongoing in many districts, and similar weather conditions are expected to persist through Thursday. The Department has forecast partly to generally cloudy skies with light to moderate rain in several places.

There is also a possibility of thunderstorms, lightning, and snowfall in hilly and mountainous regions, particularly in Koshi and Madhes provinces.

Meteorologists say the weather system is likely to weaken gradually from Thursday night, bringing some improvement in conditions.
