World Bank-backed ‘Digital Transformation Project’ to be implemented

Kathmandu: A delegation led by World Bank Country Director for Nepal David Sislen paid a courtesy call on Minister for Communication and Information Technology Dr. Bikram Timilsina at his office.

The meeting, attended by officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, discussed the ‘Nepal Digital Transformation Project’ to be implemented with World Bank support, according to the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology.

Discussions focused on expanding access to information technology, strengthening data management, advancing digital transformation, and promoting governance reforms.

Minister Timilsina expressed appreciation for the World Bank’s continued support to Nepal’s socio-economic development and said the project would be implemented at a fast pace.

He said the government has begun result-oriented work on infrastructure development and public service delivery following the formation of the new government, adding that efforts are focused on resolving project-related issues.

He also expressed confidence that progress in projects supported by the World Bank will be visible soon.
