Moderate Rain Likely in Hilly Regions Today

Kathmandu, April 7: The weather is expected to remain generally cloudy in the hilly and Himalayan regions of the country today, while other areas will experience partly cloudy conditions.

According to the Weather Forecasting Division under the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, there is a chance of moderate rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning at some places in the hilly and Himalayan regions. Light snowfall is also likely in higher altitudes. One or two locations in the Terai of Koshi Province may also witness brief rainfall.

Tonight, cloudy conditions are likely to persist in the hilly and Himalayan regions of Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces, along with the Himalayan areas of Bagmati and Koshi provinces. The remaining hilly and Terai regions are expected to see partly cloudy weather.

The Division has forecast moderate rain with thunder and lightning at a few places in the hilly and Himalayan regions of Karnali, Sudurpaschim and Gandaki provinces during the night. Similar conditions are likely at isolated places in the Himalayan regions of Bagmati and Koshi provinces.
