NC Central Committee Rejects President Gagan Thapa’s Resignation

Kathmandu, March 22 — The Central Committee (CC) of the Nepali Congress has rejected the resignation submitted by party president Gagan Kumar Thapa.

A meeting of the party’s top decision-making body held at its central office in Sanepa decided not to accept Thapa’s resignation, which he had tendered on March 17. Acting Chief Secretary Krishna Prasad Dulal confirmed that the committee unanimously turned down the request.

According to Dulal, the decision was taken in view of the crucial responsibility of leading the party toward its upcoming 15th general convention.

The development signals the party leadership’s intent to maintain continuity at the top level as it prepares for a key organizational event.
