Seniormost HoR Member Arjunnarsingh KC to Take Oath from President Paudel
Kathmandu, March 22 — The seniormost member of the House of Representatives, Arjunnarsingh KC, is set to take the oath of office and secrecy from President Ramchandra Paudel on Wednesday.
According to the Office of the President, the oath-taking ceremony will be held at 11:15 am at the President’s Office in Sheetal Niwas. Following the oath, KC will assume the role of presiding officer and conduct House proceedings until a new Speaker is elected.
KC, 78, was elected to the House of Representatives under the proportional representation system from the Nepali Congress in the March 5 elections. In his capacity as the seniormost member, he will administer the oath of office and secrecy to 274 newly elected lawmakers on March 26 at the Federal Parliament Building.
The swearing-in marks a key step in the formation of the new federal parliament following the recently concluded elections.
