Kathmandu: A majority of central members of the Nepali Congress, including Acting President Purna Bahadur Khadka, have reached the Election Commission.
Leaders close to party President Sher Bahadur Deuba arrived at the Commission claiming that the party’s official working committee is the one led by Deuba. This comes after a separate working committee was formed under the leadership of Gagan Thapa at the party’s special general convention.
Those present at the Election Commission include Acting President Khadka, Vice President Dhanraj Gurung, joint general secretaries, and leader Shekhar Koirala.
On Wednesday, the working committee led by Gagan Thapa, elected by the special general convention, had also visited the Election Commission, claiming to be the official party committee.
