12 Bridges Along East-West Highway to Be Repaired in Sudurpaschim

Kanchanpur, Jan 7: The Mahakali Bridge Project Office in Mahendranagar has initiated repair and retrofitting work on 12 bridges along the East-West Highway in Sudurpaschim Province.

The repair work will cover motorable bridges on the stretch from Chisapani in Kailali to Gaddachauki in Kanchanpur, spanning over a dozen rivers and streams, said Rabi Sah, an engineer at the Bridge Project Office.

The project, funded by the World Bank, has been allocated Rs 19.2 million. Sah noted that the bridges were selected for repair based on condition ratings, emphasizing that regular maintenance and safety strengthening are essential to ensure reliable and safe infrastructure.
