APIGA Nepal 2025 Concludes with Emphasis on Local Youth Leadership
Kathmandu, Dec 29:
The Asia Pacific Internet Governance Academy (APIGA) Nepal 2025 wrapped up its two-day intensive workshop, highlighting the role of local youth in shaping Nepal’s digital future.
The event, organized by the Federation of Computer Associations Nepal (CAN Federation) in partnership with ICANN and KISA, aimed to build the capacity of young Nepali leaders to navigate the complexities of global internet governance.
Aligned with Nepal’s vision for a Digital Nepal, the workshop offered tertiary students and young professionals an in-depth understanding of the multi-stakeholder model of internet governance. Senior Vice President of CAN Federation, Chiranjibi Adhikari, underlined the importance of treating digital ecosystem reforms as a national priority to align with evolving global standards.
Participants took part in practical exercises focusing on the intersection of cybersecurity, technology, and international policy, a skill set increasingly vital for Nepal’s ICT sector.
The workshop concluded with a call for continued engagement, with attendees now joining the APIGA alumni network. They are expected to lead future digital policy initiatives, ensuring that Nepalese perspectives are represented in global forums such as ICANN and the Internet Governance Forum (IGF).
