Pathibhara temple area in Taplejung witnesses first snowfall of winter

November 12, Kathmandu: With the onset of the winter season, the sacred Pathibhara region in eastern Nepal welcomed its first snowfall overnight, transforming the high-altitude pilgrimage site into a winter wonderland.
Light rain on Friday afternoon gave way to snow that began falling Friday night and continued into Saturday morning. According to Rajendra Mahat, an employee of the Pathibhara Area Development Committee, the fresh snow has significantly dropped temperatures in the area.
The committee has advised pilgrims to dress warmly and take precautions against the cold. Despite the chilly conditions, visitor footfall remains strong. Many devotees who offered prayers at the famous Pathibhara Devi temple early this morning were delighted to experience and play in the fresh snow.
The picturesque snowy landscape has added an extra charm to the spiritual journey, drawing even larger crowds eager to witness the temple surrounded by its seasonal white cloak.
