All government offices, local levels resume service delivery in Baitadi

Baitadi, Sept 16: The government offices, which closed during the Gen-Z protests last week, resumed their services in Baitadi district.

The schools, social organisations and other public agencies resumed the service delivery. The offices were shut owing to the vandalism and arson that happened during the Gen-Z protests. Chief District Officer of Baitadi, Punya Bikram Paudel, said the offices are back to their regular jobs and have resumed public service delivery. “The government offices have been run. And, the public service delivery is also regular now,” CDO Paudel said.

However, he said that the number of public service recipients is sparse, though the office work has resumed. The CDO shared that no detail was received on the damages to the government offices in Baitadi district, and there is no difficulty in running offices, too. The schools which were closed owing to the protests have resumed regular classes, according to Headmaster of Rauleshwor Secondary School Narendra Bhat.

“The schools have reopened. The classes are regular now. The number of students attending the schools is usual,” Bhat viewed. The Spokesperson of the Baitadi District Police, Balaram Pandey, said that life in the district is back to normal now with the opening of the government offices, organisations, schools and markets. “Life is back to normal now,” Pandey added.

The district witnessed curfew and prohibitory order during the Gen-Z protests that pushed normal life into difficulties. Likewise, the public service delivery is regular at the local levels in Baitadi district. Chief Administrative Officer Naresh Raj Joshi of Dogdakedar Rural Municipality said that they have resumed office works. All services were regular in Shivanath Rural Municipality too, Chairman Karna Singh Saud said.

“We have opened our office from today. The services being delivered from the rural municipality have been started,” Saud added. Similarly, Chairman of Sigas Rural Municipality Harisingh Dhami mentioned that there was no impact of the Gen-Z protest in the rural municipality.

“We had no situation to shut the office. The service delivery was regular,” Dhami elaborated.
