Kathmandu, Sept 15: The Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies has said that there is no shortage of daily essential consumables and petroleum products in the market.
In a statement issued today, the Ministry has urged all to avoid unnecessary hoarding of daily commodities, as there is no dearth of them in the market. Furthermore, in view of the upcoming festival, the Food Management and Trading Company Limited and the Salt Trading Corporation have started operating festival-targeted fair price shops in 153 locations across the country from today.
The Ministry also held discussions with the representatives of the private sector regarding the impact of the recent adverse situation in the country on the overall industry, commerce, trade and supply sectors, as well as the supply chain and market management, considering the fast-approaching festivals.
Joint Secretary and spokesperson of the ministry, Jitendra Basnet, said that discussions were held on protecting and promoting investment by improving the industrial and commercial environment, boosting the morale of the private sector and restoring damaged structures.
