Lumbini Province Assembly Member Pun passes away

Kathmandu, Aug 30: Lumbini Province Assembly Member Sarita Pun passed away on Saturday.

A permanent resident of Taksera in Rukum Purba district, Pun died while receiving treatment at the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital in Kathmandu. Pun was elected the provincial assembly member from the CPN (UML) under the proportional electoral system.

According to CPN (UML) leader from Rukum Purba Khemman Khadka, Province Assembly Member Pun was taken to Kathmandu some days ago after some issues with her health condition. Pun, a heart patient, underwent two critical surgeries in a short span of time.

She gave birth to a baby girl after the first surgery, while an artificial valve was transplanted in her heart through the next surgery, the UML leader Khadka said.
